Activities since high school: Looking forward to seeing my GPN classmates at our 50th reunion!

Following GPN, I attended Michigan State University on a four-year Evans Scholarship earned as a caddie at Lochmoor Country Club.   My BS and MS degrees were in Mathematics.

I retired on May 1, 2020 as COV-19 was rearing its head.  My professional career always touched the insurance industry in some way, ranging from pricing and product development, to consulting, process reengineering, and sales.  Protecting and advising families was always very fulfilling.

Barb and I have been married for 41 years and we have three sons.  Barb is a BSN and provides nursing care part time to the retired Jesuits at Marquette University.  Our oldest son, Vic Jr., lives in Minneapolis and is a professional musician, see http://www.minnesotapiano.com/.  Vic Jr. and our youngest son, Aaron, both graduated from the University of Wisconsin - Madison.  Aaron is progressing on the long journey of exams to becoming a full Actuary.  My middle son Doug is mentally ill and lives nearby in Waukesha, WI, home city of Les Paul.  Doug enjoys hiking and outdoor activities with the family.

My favorite hobby is home brewing and have been at it now for 20 years.  Living in Wisconsin, brewing beer becomes a second nature, as well as consuming it (moderately, of course).  In retrospect, I really would have enjoyed opening my own brewpub and sharing my wares!  Someday, perhaps now that I'm tired.  We’ll see.

God bless you all throughout the years to come.

Activities since high school:
Hello class of ’71. I can’t believe that it’s been 50 years. Wow, how the time has flown. After graduating from North, I attended MSU, (Go Spartans) and received a degree in Social Work. Got married and went to work for a Computer Sales and leasing company as a Product Manager. (Never did use my Social Work degree.) Worked there for 5 years and then decided to open my own company offering computer services for the automotive and aerospace industry. During this time I also had two boys, Daniel and Kevin. After 16 years, I sold the company and went into the recruiting and consulting field. In 2002 I went to work for Kelly Services at their World Headquarters in Troy as their Corporate Recruiter. On the personal front, I divorced in 1996 and remarried in 1999 to John Alessandro, the love of my life.  Unfortunately he passed away in 2018.

I retired from Kelly Services in January and love traveling and spending time with my sons and grandchildren. Danny lives nearby and has 2 daughters and 1 son. Kevin lives in LA and has 1 daughter.  I have been very blessed with a great life, a wonderful family and dear friends. This reunion is a great opportunity to reconnect with lost, but not forgotten, “old” friends.

For the past 50 years I have enjoyed working on all these reunions.  Thanks to the hard work by the reunion committee. Bob, Nancy, Carol, Don, Judy, Roger, Jack and Scott.  We were very saddened to lose Bob Reaser recently.

Due to some generous donations from classmates, we are able to reduce the price of the 50th reunion tickets and can keep the website live for another 5 years. So continue to check this site for pictures of the reunion and other classmate updates.

Hope to see you at the 50th.  If not, we've already started planning the 55th for August or September 2026.  So make sure to keep your contact information up to date.  Stay well and healthy.  See you soon.

Activities since high school: Hi Everyone its been a long time since high school.  After graduation I attended 2 years at Eastern Michigan then dropped out having no idea what direction to take. I worked at Jacobsons departament store for a year and then at the end of 1974 I packed up my van and moved to California where I eventually got a job at Martin Aviation at Orange County airport.  I started working there refueling aircraft as I made my way up to my commercial pilot license. During this time I met my wife Holly and we married in 1978 and started raising our three childrem, Kyle, Erinn and Lindsey.  Then in 1987 with a total change of direction I returned to college, UC Irvine, to learn landscape architecture, recieved my license in 1991 and started my own business in 1995 working out of my home, which I continue to do, I plan to retire completely at age 70.  For fun we like to travel mostly and we have a child in Kansas City and another one in Atlanta so we visit them often.  High school was a lot of fun, I especially remember the FMBC (Friday Morning Breafast Club) at Dunkin Donuts.

Activities since high school: After graduating from University of Michigan in 1975 with a degree in Psychology, I started working for the Internal Revenue Service where I remained until 1997.  I began as a Revenue Officer in the Collection division (yup, knocking on doors to collect delinquent taxes from individuals and businesses!)  Over the years, I had increasingly responsible management positions in the Collection division before eventually branching off into Information technology --still at the IRS.

I met my wonderful husband Chuck at the IRS.  We married in 1980 and now have three great kids and four grandchildren.

Shortly after starting at IRS, I continued going to school at night to work on my Masters in Business Administration from University of Michigan.  I got about half way done when I decided it was too much to handle all at once -- working full time,  being married, raising children and going to school.  So I never finished the MBA.  But I really enjoyed my 22 working years at IRS.  I did meaningful work with talented people who remain some of my closest friends to this day.

In 1997, I decided to make a change and quit the IRS.  At that point our oldest son was off to U of M, and the two youngest girls were still in middle school and high school.  During those next few years, I enjoyed being a stay-at-home mom and fully participated in all their school, athletic and musical activities.

I also started a website design business during this time.  In the course of that endeavor, I wanted to educate myself more about the idea of e-commerce which was still in its infancy.  So as a lark, I started an online business in 2002 called The Little Chickadee, selling backyard birding supplies.  It turned out to be very successful and I operated it until 2016 when I retired it.

My husband retired in 2012 and we are enjoying it immensely.  We now split our time between Grosse Pointe and our cottage in northern Michigan. We also travel frequently to see family and friends all over the country.

I've enjoyed working on the planning committees for the 40th, 45th and the 50th reunions, reconnecting with some really special classmates.

I look back very fondly on my GPN years and look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at our 50 year reunion!

Activities since high school:
After graduating from GPN I attended and graduated from Eastern Michigan University with degrees in Criminal Justice and Sociology. I then moved to S. Florida and had a 27 year career with American Express.

In 2003 my husband and I formed our own business and since that time I have been a fulltime consultant with PeopleTek,Inc, a leadership coaching and development company.

After hurricane Wilma hit in 2005 we lost all desire to remain in S. FL and bought property in central TN. We are now living in the Cumberland Plateau full time, enjoying the wildlife and change in seasons (and loving the snow!).

I have a great husband whom you’ll get to meet at the reunion and 2 beautiful daughters, both attending the University Of Florida. Oh, and I can’t forget my 3 dogs that we’ve “rescued” from different agencies.

See you soon!

Activities since high school:  Alan and I met in college and married when I graduated from Miami.  We have lived in Columbus for over 40 years.  Our two sons are married, one living in Columbus, the other in Grosse Pointe! We have 4 grandchildren, 2 boys and 2 girls.

I worked for over 25 years as an elementary school media specialist.  I am now retired.

Our son, daughter-law and 2 grand daughters, as well as my sister and brothers live in the GP area, so I do get back for quick visits.  The time is filled with family gatherings and then it's a rush to get out before the next snowfall or holiday traffic!

Looking forward to seeing everyone soon.
