It's been a long, but rewarding journey. After graduation from North, I attended the University of Detroit where I earned a degree in History/Philosphy and post graduation I worked in the family business for about twenty years. In 1978 I made the best decision in my whole life and married my wife Karleen who has put up with me for the past wonderful 33 years. In 1986 I decided to go to law school in the evenings and entered Detroit College of Law and received my Juris Doctor in 1990 with concentrations in Real Estate and Tax. Over the years, I've worked as Regional and National Underwriting Counsel for almost every title insurer, Past President of the Michigan Land Title Association and have been published on several occassions by the Institute of Continuing Legal Education and the Real Property Law Section of the State Bar of Michigan on various real estate topics as well as being a member of the Michigan Land Title Standards committee. Karleen and I have four children, Mario, Christina, A.J. and Michael. Mario has his own insurance agency in the metro area, Christina is Lead Designer for Adrienne Vittidini in New York, A.J. is a Computer Animator in Orlando and Michael is a chef at the Capital Grille in Troy. My wife Karleen retired from Grosse Pointe Public Schools in 2010 after teaching for 34 years and now helps me with my law firm and title company, American Title Agency where we are opening our newest office on Notre Dame in the Village this May. We have been blessed with a wonderful life and I hope yours has been wonderful too!

After graduation, I attended Hillsdale College and Marygrove College where I graduated with a degree in Human Ecology and proceeded to work in the retail world spending most of my working years at Saks Fifth Avenue downtown. I married Bob,an attorney in the area in 1975 and we have stayed in Grosse Pointe for the past 35 years. We have 3 children all graduated from GPN with lots of the same teachers- pretty weird. My oldest, Meredith a U-M grad, went on to be a middle school teacher in Brighton before having the cutest little boy on earth- Will. They now have moved into Grosse Pointe so they are nice and close. Second child, Tom, graduated from Northwood University and has done alot of traveling, living in the Dominican Republic and Buenos Aires. Youngest son, Parker, is in law school at WSU and is now clerking for the Chief Justice of the Michigan Supreme Court. |

I started my banking career with Detroit Bank & Trust/ Comerica in 1973. I moved to Florida in 1990 and continued in banking here. Found banking in Florida very different. I started as an Asst Mgr then became a Manager and a Regional Manager. I now manage a branch of Iberiabank which is headquartered in New Iberia, LA. We are known as "The Hottest Bank in Town" because our headquarters is the home of tabasco sauce. I have two step-children who live in St. Louis with their families and one natural daughter that lives in Hibbing MN with her family. I am an advocate of community involvement. I have been the President of a local Children's non-profit, I serve on the Governing Board of a Charter School and I am Chairman of the Board of the Greater Boynton Beach Chamber of Commerce. Since this last mini biography, I retired. However, my husband and I enjoy traveling around the state doing craft shows. I make jewelry and sell at shows all over Florida. Enjoying the heck out of life!

I will be married 30 years this coming summer. I have three well adjusted adult children, two of which were married within 4 days of each other last year. One grandson that just blessed us last November; which I was able to visit on Hawaii, thank you oldest son for joining and staying in the Air Force. My daughter married a pro golfer and is living down in Clearwater. Yes we alter visits between Florida and Hawaii, only way to see the kids. Third boy is gaining momentum in life, I just need to be patient. I have the best job ever at this point in my life, responsible for coordinating shared tooling @ GM for the new Malibu and Cadillac between United States, Korea and China. Lots of opportunity to save GM investment dollars. |
